The Story is an abridged, chronological Bible that reads like a novel. There are no verse references, and Scripture segments are seamlessly woven together with transition text into a single grand narrative. For those intimidated or overwhelmed by the unabridged Bible, The Story helps people understand God’s Word more fully and engage with it more easily.
But The Story is more than a book, it is a church-wide campaign. Beginning Sept. 11, Grace Church will take on the challenge of reading the Bible in a year by engaging The Story in every stage of life.
Beginning with an Introduction on Sept. 4 and ending with Christ's return on May 21, we will focus our Sunday sermons, Scripture readings and prayers on the 31 chapters of The Story.
We hope to engage every person at Grace in reading The Story. Read a chapter a week or a few pages a day. The Story was created as a Bile that is easy to read.
One of the best things about The Story is there is a version for every age group. We encourage families to read and discuss The Story together.
Adults will have the chance to go further in God's story by joining a 6-8 week small group. The goal of each group is to find your story in God's story.
During our Story Campaign, our Children's Ministry will walk through The Story righ along with the adults. Each week, children will engage the same biblical themes and stories that their parents experience in worship.
Our youth (6th-12th grades) will also engage The Story. They will have their own small groups, events, and activities that will mirror the adults.
